In Gravity, or the Gist of It, I transcribe Thomas Pynchon’s Gravity’s Rainbow. The transcribed text takes the form of galleys. Without pausing or rewinding to catch up, quite a bit is left out. But strangely, the transcribed text reads pretty much as I remembered the original text to be when I first read it, leaving me to wonder if my fabrication by omission is a faithful replication of Pynchon’s work from my point of view as its reader. This is an on-going project where several transcriptions of the work is planned.
