My work examines the contemporary narrative through the ways we tap history and envision the future. I employ and deconstruct popular writing and everyday forms as source material in projects that range from sculpture, text, and video, to installation. As I create visual and physical ways to read the narrative terms and objects, my projects challenge the viewer to reconstruct what are already familiar to them in their minds. Through this active reading engagement, I invite the viewer to recognize their narrative complicity in their shared conceptions of the past and the future, and their potential to rewrite the present.
