Through prints, sculpture, installation, performance, and writing, my work examines the contemporary narrative of life through the ways we tap history and envision the future. I mine and deconstruct popular writing and everyday forms to reveal how popular conceptions of the past and the future are socially confabulated. I re-articulate these narrative terms and objects in projects that visually and physically challenge the viewer to reconstruct what are already familiar to them in their minds. Through these active and embodied forms of reading engagements, my work invites the viewer to recognize how they contribute to their shared interpretations of history and the future, and their potential to rewrite the present.
